Tree surveying and tree consultancy

KPS Contractors Ltd have invested heavily in the consultancy aspects of arboriculture, not just through the purchasing of a picus tomograph decay detector and GPS mobile mappers, but also through expert training of staff by Claus Mattheck, one of the world's leading experts in and creator of  VTA (Visual Tree Assessment).

We have carried out over 200 picus tomograph tests providing inspections and reports for both the public and private sectors. These inspections utilise the most up to date, non invasive techniques and technology to provide a clear picture of the extent of any internal decay. Inspection reports are a valuable tool when providing evidence to justify the removal of what may appear a healthy tree, but can be dangerous or unstable.

Qualified consultants are able to provide pre-construction and planning application arboricultural reports incorporating all aspects of BS5837 Trees In Relation To Construction recommendations.

At KPS we have surveyed and mapped over 500 individual sites in the last 2 years, which includes visual tree inspections, GPS plotting, picus tests and tree climbing inspections of thousands of trees. This work has been carried out for both large private companies and individual home and land owners to help fulfil the legal duty of care placed upon anyone who owns a tree, which has the potential to injure or cause damage to another person or property.
